It's time for homeowner stuff!
We still have a few windows with wooden frames that needed painting. I hadn't gotten a close look at some of them recently and ended up buying paint and plastic wood because they were getting a bit weathered. First I sanded them down with heavy duty sandpaper although some areas were so rough I could have used an Epstein file on them. Filled the cracks with plastic wood, let it dry and did another quick sanding before the first coat of paint. That took care of the front windows. We really need to get them replaced.
The window in the kitchen was more problematic as I needed to get on a ladder to reach it and oh boy, back to the hardware store for more plastic wood. I got the cracks filled and the first coat on but the second coat may have to wait. The weather's been hot and sunny but we may get rain today.
I've been attempting to repair an old guitar that was given to me. Some dipstick put steel strings on a classical guitar which takes nylon strings. The tension neck broke off the body and was hanging on by the fret board. I had to remove the neck entirely and clean off the original glue and wood splinters. I used sandpaper to level things off although I probably could have used an Epstein file. It's not quite fitting right so more work is needed.
The saddle was missing so I bought some cheap bone saddles and nut blanks. If I ruin one or two I'm not out much. However I did buy a special file to shape the nut and saddle because tools are valuable. They were out of Epstein files though.
What are you hiding, Donnie Boy/
