An abundance of caution
I have epilepsy. It's well controlled by medication but I need to check in with my doctor at regular intervals. He's often said that I'm his most boring patient... and we both like it that way.
However, as I had my appointment today the receptionist asked if I was experiencing flu or cold symptoms. As I'm re-recovering from a cold I said yes. They had to cancel my appointment and reschedule. They weren't taking any chances.
The local university is cancelling all their public performances.
I don't think people are running scared yet but they are taking precautions.
