Reminds me of when we had the Great Server Hunt at Uni... the I.T hub for the campus network was being migrated to a new building But there was one critical server that needed to be moved, and couldn't be duplicated because it had the only copy of some legacy software actually running on it..
Except no-one could find it, or had an idea where it was..
Eventually, after the head of comp-sci had recruited all of us to look for it, and the old I.T building had literally been emptied out of machines with still no sign of it Some bright spark had the idea of following wires and seeing what was at the end of them.
They found It was inside a cupboard that had been walled over years ago... just sitting there, quietly doing it's thing with no-one the wiser.
