The alarm woke me from a very vivid dream - which always throws me off. The radio was blaring about high gas prices, high gas prices, and high gas prices.
It's like a bad flashback to the 1970s with no Jimmy Carter to guide us.
On my walk this morning (my cold is fading but still around) I passed an SUV with the brand name of 'Liberty'. Sheesh. More like slavery to the gas pump.
Have we learned *nothing* since the 1970s? We're driving around in *bigger* gas guzzling monsters while fueling the lifestyles of oligarchs? And hello! Climate change! We've known about it for *decades* but we do baby steps when full strides were needed _decades_ ago.
We could be energy independent with solar and wind and big honking batteries and free from bloody oil drenched oligarchs BUT NO! ~America~ needed Big Cars and blow Big Smoke - killing the world year by year.
Carter was right. The dirty hippies were right. We still are right - we need to be free from fossil fuels. But ~America~ wanted to be slaves to cheap gas and big cars.
