I keep thinking about getting involved in Nanowrimo - National Novel Writing Month. I'm not short of ideas, I'm short of "butt in the chair" time and energy which this may help kick start my writing. Last year, I just didn't have the spoons.

This year however...

There appears to be a big debate about using AI (Large Language Models) as an aid to writing your novel in November. I think the look at it as another form of adaptive technology: something to help people write. Adaptive technology - like large screens for visually impaired folks, or voice to text for those with mobility issues - helps bring out the information and talent within the writer themselves. AI... does not. Large Language Models scrapes the words and form from others, mashes them up and applies filters to the result. There's no intelligence, no talent, no spark that comes from humans in the result: just a rehash of dead authors.

I should just start writing again on a daily basis and damn the spoons.

I've participated in the blogging version of NANOWRIMO once. I've never attempted the writing version for similar reasons as you--not enough time. The current tail...er tale took close to a year to complete and is 62K words in length. I can't picture trying to pull that off in 30 days.

They're so riddled with scandal that at this point I've deleted my account there, and I'm not the only one. This blog post is a good source. And people are locally talking about just splintering off and doing a similar version of group activity, but without the wrongness involved.
