Gettin back to practicing

Being in the hospital for a week hasn't done wonders for practicing with my bass.  Or my guitar.  On the bass I'm relearning the fretboard and that means lovely lovely scales.  Which is okay - from scales and chords I can pick up riffs.  

On the guitar end, I was original taught the basic chords by finger pickers who disdained using a pick.  So I never really learned how to use one.  I like finger picking.  So relearning all the chords I have to learn how to use a pick too.  I have to concentrate more to get clean consistent chords.  Very frustrating.
