Since I moved out of my parents home I switched from your standard milk and cereal breakfast (or french toast) to oatmeal. This originally started as a defensive measure as my housemates - being lazy f*cks who wanted something fast and easy to eat - would suck up my cereal and milk leaving me in the morning with ... well, nothing.
Oatmeal needed to be cooked so they turned their noises up at it. My experiences with living with other people didn't work out very well. Lazy f*cks.
I continued to eat oatmeal for breakfast as I became lactose intolerant and it was cheap. This changed about 20 years ago when I moved into an apartment building just around the corner from a bagel place. Very quickly my breakfast became a bagel with a piece of cheese. Fruit was added at a later date.
I've run out of bagels. I'm not even sure the bagel place will be open.
So I'm back to oatmeal. It's cheap. It's kind of meh but it's breakfast. The world will not end because I don't have bagels for breakfast.
The world will end when I run out of coffee.
In the meantime my computer is gently Folding At Home in the background. Every cpu cycle helps.
