Although a lot of people are building up stocks of popcorn for the upcoming impeachment trial, it might be a good idea to delay the trial just for a little while.

Why?

Because the criminals, terrorists and just plain dumbasses that invaded the Capitol with murder and mayhem in their eyes are being arrested... and their defense is changing from:

*angry pout*

"I DIDN'T DO NOTHIN'"

to:

*angry pout*

"TRUMP ORDERED ME DO IT!"

or:

*angry pout*

"TRUMP TRICKED ME INTO DOING IT!"

(*angry pout*)

So we'll soon have an army of Sunshine Seditionists all pointing their fingers at The Donald. I don't know how much *legal* weight it will have for the Trump or for his hooligans, but it doesn't look good for either of them.

And the popcorn will keep.

Although the whole situation has me both furious and afraid, I'm have *way* too much fun watching the fertilizer hit the rotating air circulation device.

Italian anti-Mafia maxi-trials, anyone?

I wonder if we could use their "love or leave it" argument against them? Surely there's somewhere that would take them? I hear Brazil maybe needing a new El Presidentie soon.

Sad part: There are too many traitors in the Senate who will vote against conviction, despite any amount of overwhelming evidence.

I fear that the longer it gets put off, the more likely to be swept under the rug. "Oh that's old news; we can't bring it up now."

Conviction seems unlikely, given the numbers of Repubnacans who are still sticking by Rump and probably only sorry that his coup didn't succeed. Many of them still haven't admitted that he lost the election!
