And furry ears. I'm just so shocked. ;-)

And Second Life runs on Linux! You NEED a good graphics card.

Curses...and I have a crappy on-board graphics chip set [Nvidia GeForce Go6600] Which is below minimum spec...

Fully thing is, when this heap ran windows, I would use SL and google earth. [not well, but they worked]. Now it's running Ubuntu...no joy.
The hardware hasn't changed though.

You may have a driver issue. I'm running an Nvidia 6200 AGP card - which is _below_ the recommended card - and I'm doing okay. It's not running very fast and I have to wait a while when I teleport in or move around but it does work.

I'm using kernel that's got the Nvidia drive pre-compiled. Ubuntu should be even easier.

I dunno, I'm using the recommended Nvidia 180 xorg driver...[well, it says it supports my chipset]

*sigh* same as sound in flash.. it says it should work, but it doesn't.
