I went to my local CVS because they were supposed to have one of my scripts ready... but they were still waiting for my doctor to get back to them. Argh.

So I asked if I could schedule a flu and COVID shot. They replied that they could do it now if I wanted. No sense putting it off! Flu in right arm, COVID in the left arm! Normally I'd do the shots on a Friday so I can have Saturday as a down day in case it hits me with body aches and fever. I took my chances.

Let's just say I did not have a good night with mild fever and chills. I barely got any sleep at all.

Today's one of my busy days at work so I'll see how much I can get done. I might leave work early if I feel really dragged out. However, being down for a day beats getting socked by the flu or worse, COVID.

Stay safe out there!

Right now the COVID vaccine and the flu vaccine are running around my immune system, playing loud music, creating graffiti and generally poking my white blood cells yelling, "COME AT ME BRO!" and being generally a nuisance.

So I'm a bit achy today. Didn't sleep well either. But if the Real Deal comes strolling into town, my immune system will be waiting with brass knuckles, knives and various forms of guns.

Germ warfare - where the germs *lose*.

Heh.

I have scheduled both my flu and COVID shots for Friday evening. I've usually had a mild reaction to the vaccine(s) in that I'm tired and achy the next day or two - but that will beat having a full on flu or COVID infection.

It's a a small price to pay.

I got the Omicron booster last Thursday. I was feeling a bit blah for the next two days but otherwise I've been fine.

Getting the appointment was a hassle. CVS's online application wanted *way* too much information and it took two tries using the telephone to schedule an appointment.

Flu shot was done the week before without issue.

I'm a little worried about this coming winter. Most people have chosen to ignore COVID and walk around unmasked in public. Also, it looks like it will be a harsh and snowy winter here.
